MEET THE FARMERS
Welcome! Northwind Bison is owned and operated by us - Shane & Amanda Stege - along with our three junior farmers. We have lived on our farm raising broiler chickens since 2012, and in 2019 decided to take a leap and invest in a small herd of six bison. We were both born and raised on farms and have always loved the country life. We are certainly new at this, but have learned a lot along the way and are always happy to learn more!
Our vision is to grow our herd and enjoy them, while also benefiting from the meat that this heritage animal has to offer. We invite you to enjoy these animals along with us.
What about the Meat?
Bison meat is lean, low in fat, and high in protein and iron. It is similar to beef, but not the same - it has a milder flavor with a hint of sweetness.
